The race to you
You see,
the morning is coming up,
the sun is rising,
and your day
has been installed in my head
like a bell sounding very strong.
The clock is ticking,
trying to tell me:
what am I waiting for?
and I'm a little away,
with my mind
searching for a reason
to stay on earth,
to do not run.
A wish lasting forever,
an idea whispering in the air,
asking me
if I can hold that thought
for one minute more.
You know,
I think my patience is still,
even when my heart
is willing to escape
in a race against time,
beating up to reach you
and keep you safe,
next to my faith.
And I'm telling myself
please don't do it,
don't make the same mistake.
